So, I downloaded Sage 300 ERP 2018 ISO this morning along with the compatibility guide, release notes and will soon have additional insights to share including my VM deployment environment using VMWare and Hyper-V. Watch this space for more details and follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

On my last blog, I talked about the new navigational ribbon (shown below) and how there are six groups with the first being FILE. Let me take a step back to draw your attention to the status bar at the bottom of the page; particularly the right-side. As with previous versions there is an icon that allows you to change the print destination from screen to printer or printer to screen by right-clicking on it and selecting the destination. Now, you can just left-click to perform the same task.
Now, continuing on with the first group FILE where the tasks associated with that group allows you to open and close a company, setup your page and select print destination options.
The next group is called OBJECTS and it has an object drop-down menu where you can perform tasks like opening an object that is highlighted, choose properties to alter icons and change titles for example. You can also copy, paste and delete icons from this view.
The third group is called the DESKTOP VIEW. You can move up a level within your module selections as well as change whether or not to show the status bar at the bottom of the screen. In previous versions there were four ways to view your page information but now there are only two. You will not have the option to change the size of the icons from large to small or vice-versa and the full name of each icon is displayed underneath. There no need to use the mouse to hover over an item. You still have the option to select details for the items.
The next group is called MACROS and it allow you to perform the same task as before like record, stop, play or edit and there are options available for them as well.
This next group called MISCELLANEOUS is new and allows you to bring up your notes (if nstalled) and launch the Sage homepage website.
The last item on the navigational ribbon is the HELP item. Here you can view current users logged in, license information, links to Sage University and Sage Community and live chat as a start.
We will get into some of the new features of Order Entry on the next blog so stay tuned and like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter where new information is released first.
