US-CERT issues alert for CrashOveride Malware

It was reported yesterday that the Department of Homeland Security has issued an alert for a version of the CrashOveride malware. The original version was discovered in 2016 and effectively impacted the electric grid and cause a major power outage in Ukraine. The United States Computer Emergency Response Team (US-CERT) is aware of the announcement "as reported by ESET and Dragos. The CrashOverride malware is an extensible platform that could be used to target critical infrastructure sectors."

"The National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) is is sharing this report to provide organizations with detection and mitigation recommendations to help prevent future compromises within their critical infrastructure networks," as reported from the organization's website.
